ABOUT THE LATINO ALZHEIMER’S & MEMORY DISORDERS ALLIANCE
Our commitment is to provided education and support programs in the Latino communities of Illinois to increase awareness of Alzheimer’s disease.
The Alliance has created a cultural Competence Training for Professionals its focus is to explain the socio-cultural context as well as emotional and physical health consequences of caregiving among Hispanic/Latinos. After taking the training, the Latino family will perceive the Health Institution as part of the community rather than an impersonal organization.
