The Diversity Leadership Luncheon will explore the roles diversity and inclusion play
in driving innovation, competitive advantage, and business objectives. Successful
managers must skillfully oversee diverse teams, execute on project objectives, and
meet organizational goals. Their influence and value as leaders are exponentially
increased as they set strategic visions that inspire others and create cultures of
excellence and inclusion. Gain insights on analyzing and diagnosing diversity
and inclusion issues to lead and support strategic, long term, and sustainable
inclusion in your organization.

Plenary Session
The 2014 Corporate Diversity Profile Chicago United’s nationally recognized Corporate Diversity Profile (CDP) is a biennial
study that measures racial diversity specifically in leadership ranks of large
corporations, on corporate boards, and in executive level management. It is one
of the leading benchmarks for corporations to measure their progress in this area.
The 2014 Corporate Diversity Profile was developed under the guidance and in-kind
support of Warren Smith, Central Region Talent Leader, Americas Talent Team, EY,
and the EY research team. Demographic and statistical data were captured on the
presence of racial diversity on the boards and in the executive ranks of the top 50
Chicago companies. Smith also served as committee chair of the Corporate
Diversity Profile Task Force.
EY executives will present the results of the study outlining the link between
organizational culture and business outcomes, how organizations create their
own cultures, and how to conduct a cultural audit to identify your
organization’s culture.
3:30 pm – 3:45 pm Session Break
3:45 pm – 5:15 pm CID Talks
Inspiring Culture, Inclusion and Diversity CID Talks was launched in 2013 to present thought-provoking and innovative ideas
from transformational leaders. Chicago United has assembled a diverse group of
leaders from the boardroom to C-suite, as well as leading entrepreneurs, to provide
you with their perspectives on culture, inclusion, and diversity. The format is
designed to motivate and inspire others to look at their own personal and
professional journeys to help create a systemic flow of “big ideas.” Presenters will
share with you what inspired them to challenge their own leadership capacity on
subjects such as surviving corporate acquisitions, minority entrepreneurs doing
business in a global economy, and effective influence.
