PR.com wrote, On Wednesday, August 13th, Pastor Choco of New Life Covenant Church, Parents for Peace and Justice, city officials, politicians, organizations and international Latino author/civic leader Robert Renteria will join forces. In an effort to stop violence in Chicago, the coalition of groups will participate in The Walk for Peace.
“Mr. Renteria is our only author who has developed anti-violence and youth initiatives,” stated Fran Briggs, eMediaCampaigns!’ Director of Operations. “He continues to be recognized for his effectiveness on these issues.”
“We use money to support wars, but neglect to feed the poor. People are walking around in a culture of darkness and we need to do something about it,” stated a passionate Robert Renteria. “Enough panel discussions talking about gang violence and statistics. As leaders, it’s time to walk the walk and bring a solution to these issues because that’s what leadership is all about. The ultimate weapon is not a loaded gun, but an educated mind.”
Chicago is recognized by the FBI as the murder capitol of the nation.
“It’s important that we stand in the gap for our brothers and sisters who are victims of the violence plaguing our communities,” stated Pastor Choco. “We are a beacon of light in the darkest places which helps bring love and joy from the Lord to all. This march is not only in remembrance of those we lost to violence, but a rally cry to end the violence and bring forth peace and hope.”
Pastor Choco sponsored more than 500 copies of “From the Barrio to the Board Room 2nd edition”, “Mi Barrio and Little Barrio.” The books are part of a bilingual book series written by author Robert Renteria. They will be distributed during The Walk for Peace. Up to 2,000 people are expected to participate.
Organizers stated that a changing world calls for children, teens, and at-risk youth to be given the tools designed to help them make effective life choices, and give them a symbol of hope.
Renteria added that “the problem-solving process is to recognize the problem, find a solution and take action.” He was inspired to write Barrio books and developed a school and faith-based curricula to help kids with their critical thinking skills, and help schools bridge the educational gap.
Robert Renteria offers teaching tools for schools and organizations working towards ending gangs and gun violence and is available for national speaking tours. Healing properties of Cabbage
Cabbage juice contains glutamic acid that is highly beneficial for the health of your intestinal tract. People suffering from stomach/peptic ulcer or inflammation has found cabbage juice to be very healing. Wow! some find relief within 2-3 days of consistently drinking this combination on a daily basis, some are healed within two weeks.
Did you know…
Most stomach ulcers could be caused by long-term medication especially aspirin (blood thinner). If you’re on medication, work with your physician to temporarily stop or change your medication when drinking cabbage juice. Once stomach ulcer is healed, the cause of the ulcers will have to be removed to prevent recurrence and stop consuming foods that hurt your stomach.
Balance your pH with Meztisoy’s ÁMATEAHORA ELIXER
So Cabbage alone doesn’t taste great! Hence, Meztisoy chose to make the ÁMATEAHORA ELIXER yummier by adding carrots, celery, broccoli, and a touch of OJ. Ok ÁMATEAHORA ELIXER supports maintaining a balanced pH! Cabbage juice is also beneficial for helping to remedy IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) and gastritis. Running Brings Family Together! Listen to the Love!
Video Posted on
Thanks to my RUNHARD niece Denice L. Treviño from San Antonio, Texas. I grew a love for running. I was visiting her in 2007 and she invited me to run in her running group. Being it was a day before my birthday I said Let’s Do It! Little did I know we we’re running a 10miler. She prepped me by laying out the plan. We’ll train like the marathoners! she said. Two minutes running one minute walking. And I did it! All the way through she was by my side. Telling me where its best to lay my arms and advance on downhill slopes, etc. She is such a gift. She allowed me to experience such a huge accomplishment with grace and ease. Thanks to her I’ve been running for causes ever since. This 2014 she brought our family together for the RockNRoll Marathon Series! We will do our best to make it a tradition!
Denice inspired my niece Kimberly Dominguez-Treviño, from Austin Texas, to finish her 1st Half Marathon. My fifth 5K this year this time for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. My mom at 77 years young finished her third 5K this year and joined to cheer us on. Everyone passing the 1st mile marker was received by a warm and proud cheer from Momma Madrigal, my sister Elisa Treviño from McAllen Texas, my dear effervescent niece Jaime Dominguez-Treviño and nephew Ben Treviño both 6 years young.
For our victory outing we met at Navy Pier with my nephew Josias Torres who traveled with his family from Oswego Illinois. Reunited with my beautiful niece Aracely Torres, and our two mesmerizing babies Mia and Mason. So blessed for her to have orchestrated our reunion for a cause.
