Alderman Daniel “Danny” Solis plans to stop by and share a few words in support of the ÁmateAhora Movement.
Alderman Solis brings vision, leadership, and action to the diverse 25th Ward community. Examples of Solis’ commitment to these communities can be witnessed as one travels the ward from Plaza Tenochtitlan, the new Dvorak Park and the expanded Mexican Fine Arts Museum at the heart of the Mexican Pilsen community to the newly created Ping Tong Park, an expanded housing development, and an improved Archer Courts Senior Housing Development within Chinatown, to the streetscaping of The Heart of Chicago, highlighting the best of Italian cuisine through its fine restaurants making each a premier stop for visitors and residents alike. To mention a few.

Thanks to both dynamo radio hosts Luis Stalin Cruz and Norma Casarrubias for having me at Soy LatinoAmerica. We had a great time sharing how I met Norma “Amore”. All thanks goes to the one and only EL POTRILLO DE CHICAGO, David Guevara.
He highly recommended I reach out and meet her. Immediately I attended her Zumba class at Rosario Castellanos Community School 5pm-6pm, what a workout. The Zumba Mommas at Castellanos rock!
Luis was very interested in my views on the importance to completing higher education and my perspective as an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist. Distinguishing a Clinical Psychologist from Industrial/Organizational Psychologist and sharing what steered my path.
We, ÁmateAhora, shared about the Urgency of the Critical State of Our Health. And the Power We Have to Choose to Live Healthy. Norma asked about my passion for health and where my inspiration came from. I was a pleasure to share and invite their radio audience to our Health Expo Saturday June 14th 10AM-4PM.

ÁmateAhora was selected by the 7th District Health Taskforce Commissoner Jesus “Chuy” Garcia along with the SouthWest Organizing Project (SWOP). To pilot a health series in the SouthWest of Chicago. The series includes my testimony on the power we have NOW to choose optimal health, an invitation to our Annual ÁmateAhora Health Expo, monthly sweat sessions and screening, and races for a cause. Experts will be leading Exhilarating Exercises and Blissful Breathing techniques. If pilot is successful we will be invited to participate in multiple schools and park districts.
ÁmateAhora is making difference! Did you know? About 600,000 people die of heart disease in the United States every year–that’s 1 in every 4 deaths. While almost everyone is affected by heart disease directly or indirectly, Hispanics and Latinos face even higher risks of cardiovascular diseases because of high blood pressure, obesity and diabetes. Additionally, heart disease is the #1 killer of Hispanic women . Unlike many illnesses, heart disease is preventable!
