Today, over 35 million people across the world are living with Alzheimer’s, including more than 5 million Americans. In the United States alone, more than 15 million caregivers generously dedicate themselves to those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. These numbers will continue to rise unless we take action.

My friend, eternal sibling in the spirit, and Ámate Ahora videographer Bill Vlahos can write a book on Alzheimer’s and his mom. We love you Bill, your family and your work to END ALZ!

Bill Vlahos

On June 21st, he will be participating in The Longest Day event for the second year, in honor of his mom, and other family members and friends, and with the hope that the money raised will get us closer to a cure and will prevent another family from having to deal with this devastating disease.
Last year his team raised close to $1,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association. He has set a target of $100,000 as this years goal. He doesn’t have a clue as to how this will happen, all I know is that he will keep riding his bike until it’s met.

Let’s do this! ‪#‎ENDALZ‬

Together, we can show those facing Alzheimer’s disease they are not alone. Please make a donation to help the Alzheimer’s Association advance their research and provide care and support to those facing the disease today.

Join us on Saturday 21st as many ride their bicycles around Chicago’s lakefront, or meet us at North Avenue, Beach at sunset, for a ceremony celebrating our accomplishments while recognizing the strength of those facing Alzheimer’s. Please consider donating a few dollars to this worthy cause. Bill G Vlahos donated $22, the number of years his mom lived after she was diagnosed (14) and the number of years since my uncle was diagnosed (8).

We are planning on turning Chicago purple, so please wear your favorite purple outfit Sat June 21st.
Thank you in advance and I’ll be seeing you on the bike path.
