How diverse is management at your workplace?
Image Posted on Updated on
Check out a recent survey by Chicago United, Ernst & Young LLP and the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. They found that racial diversity across the senior level positions of Chicago’s top 50 companies (based on revenue) is stagnant.
Listen to Stacey Baca’s ABC News interview with Gloria Castillo, president and CEO of Chicago United, and Warren Smith, Central Region talent leader at Ernst & Young LLP.

Here are some of the results:
- 11 companies have no ethnic diversity on their boards of directors.
- Six companies have more than 25 percent minority representation on their boards of directors.
- 17 Chicago companies have no ethnic diversity within their executive ranks.
- Two companies have more than 25 percent representation of ethnic minorities in top executive positions.
As Chicago United promotes multiracial leadership in Chicago’s business community, they are inviting everyone to its Leadership Conference & Bridge Awards Dinner.
Gloria Castillo, president and CEO of Chicago United, and Warren Smith, Central Region talent leader at Ernst & Young LLP, came into our ABC 7 Eyewitness News studio to tell us about the organization’s work and the event.
