transition to higher learning
Ámate Ahora on Roosevelt University “RU” Latino Families Resource Committee
Image Posted on Updated on
Assistant Provost Vargas from RU is actively creating an Advisory Committee for Roosevelt University that is concentrated in Latino issues and University visibility as an excellent place for Latinos to obtain their higher learning degree.
We understand that many of us are/were first generation students and the importance of addressing the system to our parents in order to have full family support. With this in mind, we have begun planning steps for the first Latino Families for Social Education Conference. Some topics for program include health, education, civic engagement, violence prevention, immigration, and higher learning. This being the first we don’t anticipate to recruit above capacity but instead work with our networks to bring the first group as a pilot.
Very exciting times for our future leaders and we are here to facilitate their transition.
